George Kent has its earliest origin in Penang as a service branch office of George Kent Limited, U.K. in 1936. The company set up a manufacturing plant on a 4-acre site in Shah Alam in July 1968. Four years later, George Kent was listed on the Kuala Lumpur Stock Exchange (KLSE).
George Kent underwent expansion when it moved to a 17-acre modern and integrated manufacturing facility in Puchong, Selangor in January 1997.
For over 80 years now, the company has committed itself to serving its various stakeholders and today is a world-renowned and leading manufacturer of water meters, valves and fittings and brass products, exporting to more than 40 countries in several continents including Singapore, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, Indonesia, Nepal, India, Philippines, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Sri Lanka, Kenya, South Africa, Colombia and the United Kingdom.
George Kent has the broadest portfolio of internationally certified metering products and solutions, as well as an extensive range of industrial products and services for the water works and services industries.
George Kent prides itself on operating the largest hot brass-forging plant in the region for the manufacture of water meters and other non-ferrous products and components that are meant for both local and foreign markets around the world.
With years of delivering a considerable number of projects in the country, it has become an established provider of M&E specialist expertise for various construction projects mainly in water treatment plants and dams in the country. In recent years, it has diversified into the rail transportation and hospital construction industries and these projects have positioned the Company for continued growth and sustainability as well as opening the door to vast opportunities in the future.
